Legal Video Services

Gravitas combines substantial legal experience with technological know-how to create a forceful and persuasive video presentation

CASE THEMES AND ARGUMENTS
Whether preparing a mitigation packet for the prosecution or an opening statement for the jury, telling a compelling story with strong, memorable themes is paramount. We work with attorneys to develop and structure such themes and arguments.

INTERVIEWING AND VIDEOTAPING WITNESSES
Videotaped interviews with family members and friends, as well as photographs or video footage of the client, can explore and develop mitigation issues much more effectively than mere "written" reports or letters. We conduct and videotape interviews with the people who know and can humanize your client.

LOCATE AND WORK WITH EXPERTS
There are some issues which are best developed by an expert witness. Given our criminal defense experience, we are familiar with respected and persuasive experts who can more effectively present the defense case. We are able to locate and successfully incorporate psychologists, psychiatrists, criminalists and other forensic experts into our videos.

VIDEOS OF CRIME SCENES
Crime scene photos and videos are usually taken by the police for the prosecution. Often, they depict "their point of view". We can videotape a crime scene, or reenact an event (with the assistance of an expert) in a more objective and, in many cases, more favorable light. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a videotape is worth even more.

MITIGATION (SETTLEMENT) VIDEOS
People involved in the criminal justice system can be persuaded by pictures. Be it the prosecution deciding whether to seek the death penalty or the jury deciding whether to impose that penalty, these decision makers can be moved and persuaded by an effective video presentation.
Mitigation (or settlement) videos can be used in death penalty cases for pretrial settlement purposes. They can be an effective and compelling means to convince the prosecution to remove the death penalty as a potential punishment. We videotape interviews of family and friends, expert witnesses, and photographs of the client, and edit them into a powerful and persuasive presentation. Our videos have been instrumental in persuading prosecutors not to seek the death penalty in capital cases.

COURTROOM VIDEOS
Courtroom videos can make an opening statement or closing argument come alive. Videos can punctuate your themes, dramatize your arguments, and humanize your client. Videos can convince in ways that mere words cannot. We have done the research and prepared the legal briefs which will allow videos to be presented during your opening statement, your closing argument, and even during the presentation of evidence. We will provide that research and briefing to you as part of our services.
